My eyes see but they don't read
They move from left to right
Across the phrases, the pages
As the electric impulses
feed into my brain
The words ramble about

I see.

At night, I am hyperaware
of my body
When something itches
When something hurts
Where? Where?
I need to sleep, my brain says.
But my body doesn't agree.

I lie down.

Drink water.
70% of your body consists of water.
70% of the earth consists of water.
30% is others and then some.
Stick to water. It is essential.

The rest is noise.

"For every rose that withers and dies,
another blooms in its stead."

I've got a lot of photos of roses on my phone
There are no roses in the Philippines
In Japan, they have gardens
and gardens of them
Imagine the care they put into them,
how they're watered every single day.

Maximize, they say.

The earth, like all things,
has its nooks and crannies.
We forget that these crevices
are naturally so
because of space.

Sometimes, I look blankly at an
invisible point in space
and look for something
missing within me.
I know not what it is, but I carry on.

I continue reading.

Tomorrow, the first thing I will do
when I get up in the morning
is to drink water.

I carry a jug with me all the time

It quenches my thirst.
