Into the world I go
With nothing but myself in tow
I trudge the space around me, it surrounds me
On foot alone, I make my way
Along paths unknown, pray I won't go astray
I feel like the ground beneath, yet I sink
And think—Onward, into the world I must go
In search of solid ground
One foot in front of the other
I traverse the darkness yonder
Still forward, forward
I long to grasp something, anything
Quick, quick—I scramble, I sink
And reach out in front of me
There is much yet so little
Hands flailing, feet stumbling
I wail and scream
For I am out of breath, overwhelming is the breadth
Yet into the world I go
Pick myself up along the road
The emptiness prevails but it won't assail me
I am starting to make out the shapes of what I find
And latching onto them as I go
Forward, always onward
Into the world I am beginning to know
